Exporting Gradebook Data

Exporting Gradebook Data

You can export the Gradebook into a spreadsheet file. Once downloaded, you can open the file in Microsoft Excel, Google Docs, Numbers for Mac, or other spreadsheet software.

To export the Gradebook, click the Export Data button in the upper-right corner of the Gradebook screen.

Column headings in the exported spreadsheet will include the unit and module labels that appear above the assessment names in the gradebook user interface at the time of export.

The spreadsheet file can be imported into most learning management systems. Please note that the instructions for import differ across systems and institutions—you may need to change the file format to what is required by your LMS.  There are two commonly used text file formats:

  • Delimited text files (.txt)

  • Comma separated values text files (.csv)

Please refer to your LMS admin for assistance with changing the format and/or importing the file if needed.

Notes:

  • Exporting Gradebook Data is the only way to add add Practice Completed Column to an LMS gradebook.  Practice Completed Column will not auto-sync to an LMS gradebook—see LMS Gradebook Sync Tool.
