Formative Activities
Formative Activities
Course content pages contain formative activities. These activities provide students with opportunities to practice what they are learning.
Formative activities are not graded, and students have unlimited chances to work the questions. While the Gradebook does not capture these activities, they do appear in the Learning Dashboard, allowing instructors to review the performance of individual students or an entire class
Note: First-attempt accuracy informs students' learning estimates.
Components of Formative Activities
Two key elements of the formative activities are designed to help students learn:
Targeted Feedback: Most questions provide targeted feedback for both correct and incorrect answer options, guiding students as they work through the activity.
Hints: All questions have hints that lead to relevant style manual sections (linked in the bundled versions).
