Types of Dashboard Cards

Two types of cards are available on the Learning Dashboard: learning cards and activity cards.

Learning cards provide data on students' progress toward specific objectives and activities as a group or individually. The questions on these cards focus on student learning rather than their activity or clicks. Learning cards may show the learning estimate, which predicts the chances that a student will answer a new problem for a specific learning objective correctly on the first try.

Activity cards provide participation data. The questions on these cards focus on students' level of participation with their courseware.

Learning Cards

There are four Learning Cards, each answering a specific question:

1. How well are my students learning?   Compares student learning estimates (a prediction of how well students will do on a summative assessment) on Learning Objectives to the amount of formative practice a student has completed.

2. Which objectives are my students having difficulty with?  Provides information to the instructor on what specific areas of the course their students are performing well or poorly on. Learning objectives are ordered in this view to show the ones where the most students have a low learning estimate – are struggling the most – so they can be quickly identified.

3. Which students are having difficulties?  Compares student learning estimates (a prediction of how well students will do on a summative assessment) to the amount of formative practice a student has completed.

4.  Which activities are my students having difficulty with? Provides a view by activity on areas where students are having difficulty.

Activity Card

How often are students visiting the course?  Informs on how your students are engaging with the courseware - page visits, course sessions, and the average course session length for each student. It also lists the dates of their first and last course sessions.
