About Acrobatiq

Acrobatiq is founded on 12+ years of research at Carnegie Mellon's Open Learning Initiative, which proved strong correlations between learning activities and learning gains. As students work through course material, they will learn morelearn faster, and have better retention — by practicing what they are learning as they learn it. 

Course Features


Engagement through active learning 

Our technology delivers active, personalized "Learn by Doing" learning through embedded practice, which creates the Doer Effect —a proven learning design principle. Courses include topical lessons, clear learning objectives, and embedded practice in the form of assessment questions.

Formative assessments:

  • appear in each lesson
  • are tagged to Learning Objectives
  • produce a data for each individual student

As students practice what they have learned by engaging with these activities, they produce a rich data stream on the learning process.  This data drives adaptivity and actionable data analytics.

Adaptive practice tailored to each student's needs 

Student performance on formative activity questions drives personalized content and assessment called Personal Practice at the end of a unit of learning to prepare the learner for a high-stakes assessment.

These activities are designed with sets of scaffolded questions against each learning objective from the preceding lessons. 

Summative Assessments that show results

Our research shows a correlation between the amount of practice students did and their summative quiz scores—the more practice students did, the better their learning outcomes were.

  • Adaptive practice has a net positive effect on learning estimates.
  • Improved learning estimates yield higher mean summative assessment scores.
